Shasta Pathology Associates (SPA) was established in Redding, October 1953 and we are dedicated to quality surgical pathology and cytopathology diagnostic services to referring physicians and patients of Shasta, Tehama, Trinity, and Siskiyou Counties. We believe that diagnostic services provided by a local pathologist can increase overall quality of patient care and physician satisfaction through enhanced communication and a team oriented approach to healthcare delivery. Insurance Information:
SPA is contracted with a plethora of insurance carries, including Medicare and Medi-Cal.
We have an expert In-House billing department that can work with your practice and your patients. There is no third party, to include out of state billing services, with which to try and resolve issues.
Courier Services:
In order to serve our five surrounding counties, we offer a dedicated In-House courier for Stat pathology needs, as well as, back up for our other contracted service.
We currently contract with Lab Corp for courier services covering the North State region.
Turn Around Time:
Over 80% of outpatient surgical pathology cases are processed and a final report completed within 24 hours of receiving the sample in our laboratory. Nearly 95% are completed within 48 hours. For clients who wish to make use of the AutoFax or web access features, these final reports will go our directly to the clients’ office within minutes of being signed out.
